Tennessee had the 14th largest veteran population in 2015, according to federal data, at 503,000 veterans. The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System treated 96,500 veterans in 2015. In a 2014 Combined Assessment Program (CAP) Review of the TVHS, conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General, 27% of a survey group of patients did not receive proper discharge instructions and 16% did not receive the ordered aftercare services and items in the expected time frame. Research shows that when home care is provided, health outcome improves, especially with individuals who have chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD or PTSD.

MISSION STATEMENT: To move forward in faith, providing the gift of compassionate care to Veterans and other heroes who cannot afford it.
