We have launched our first "Satellite"** after-school program at McMurray Middle Prep in Antioch**. We started this program this year as a response to the many youth wanted to join our flagship program, but who reside in neighborhoods that are geographically disconnected from the city center, are underserved by public transportation, and who face additional barriers such as language and lack of personal transport. We have partnered with Community Achieves sire director, Courtney Artis, to provide a 20-week after-school class to seven youth. They are studying guitar, songwriting, and enjoying our "Writers' Guild" model of learning.
Our CD release show will take place in early July and will be open to the public. This will be a community-celebration of all the hard work our young artists have done this year.
